Egadi Islands
Marine nature reserve comprised of three islands and two islets of great historical-archeological importance.
Lying to the West of the Sicilian coast, the Egadi islands have been declared a Marine Nature Reserve. The islands are of great historical and archeological importance. Among the findings is the Nave Punica, which can now be seen at the Baglio Anselmi of Marsala.
The Egadi islands are made up of: Favignana, the largest island, known for its tuna fishing; Levanza, the smallest; Marittimo, the most distant and mountainous of the islands. Then there are the two islets, Formica and Maraone.
