Milazzo
On a small peninsula edged with tiny beaches a city whose history is linked to a famous battle.
Milazzo is situated at the start of a small peninsula which is edged with tiny beaches. The town is sited on the Eastern side of this promontory. It is famous for the battle fought there by Garibaldi's men. Milazzo can be divided into three principal areas: the "borgo", the walled city and the low town.
Among the monuments of great tourist appeal we find the Castle, Milazzo Cathedral, the remains of Palazzo dei Giurati, the Church of Madonna del Rosario, the Sanctuary of St Francesco di Paola, the Church of St Giacomo Apostolo, the Convent of the Carmine. The area surrounding Milazzo visitors can see Capo Milazzo, St Lucia del Mela and Roccavaldina.
