Pantelleria Sicily

Because of its historically strategic position, the Sicily's island of Pantelleria is scattered with sites of great archeological interest. At Pantelleria one finds the longest stretch of prehistoric wall in the whole of the Mediterranean Muro Alto, the Acropoli, the Barbacane Castle and the Sesi.

The Nature Reserve of the Montagna Grande is a green oasis inhabited by the rare birds. Then there is the Arco dell'Elefante, the Capperificio and the Specchio di Venere lake. Local delicacies include, Pesto pantesco, Sciakisciuka, Sfinci and Cassateddri.
