Trapani: introduction

Situated on the most Westerly point of Sicily, Trapani was built on lowlands just a few meters above sea level. A strategically placed commercial port, Trapani is still strongly linked to its fishing traditions.
Numerous sites to visit: the Sanctuary of the Annunziata, the Cathedral of St Lorenzo, the Church of Purgatory, Palazzo Riccio di St Gioacchino, Palazzo Cavaretta, Palazzo della Giudecca, Colombaia Castle, Terra Castle, the Ligny Tower, the Pepoli Museum, and the Salt Museum.
